This site, though in a provisional stage, is an entrance to a wealth of information thanks to our membership and networks. Moreover it is a meeting place for patient organisations involved in chronic and debilitating diseases and with an interest in genetics and biotechnology.
IGA is an alliance of continental and regional alliances of parent and patient organisations and of international disease specific groups all having an involvement in the opportunities and implications of genetics and biotechnology regarding its potential for prevention and treatment of serious diseases.
IGA works for a world in which genetic diseases and acquired birth disorders are understood, prevented and cured and those affected supported. IGA aims at voicing the interests of patient organisations on the global level.
IGA values collaboration with scientific groups, industry and policymakers in achieving its goals. You are welcome to join our efforts .
IGA acknowledges support of the King Baudouin Foundation in Belgium and other foundations and companies for facilitating the expansion of the International Genetic Alliance
